53977 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Defence: How many crown appointee positions, if any, are there in the Minister's departments, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, for the 2025-26 financial year, broken down by board and number of chairs, deputy chairs and members?

Hon Judith Collins: Ministry of Defence: Nil. New Zealand Defence Force: The Territorial Force (Defence) Employer Support Council, known as the Defence Employer Support Council (DESC), has up to 10 members. This includes a Chair, a Deputy Chair and the Chief of Defence Force’s representative (currently Chief of Army). Of the remaining seven positions, only five are currently filled. I also refer the Member to the response for written answer 54136 (2025).
