53911 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Arts, Culture and Heritage: How many crown appointee positions, if any, are there in the Minister's departments, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, for the 2025-26 financial year, broken down by board and number of chairs, deputy chairs and members?
Hon Paul Goldsmith: There are the following crown appointee positions across the Arts, Culture & Heritage Portfolio;
Arts Council of New Zealand Toi Aotearoa (Creative NZ) board: 13 positions (including one Chair and 12 members from which a deputy chair could be appointed).
New Zealand Symphony Orchestra board: up to eight positions (including one Chair and up to seven members from which a deputy chair could be appointed).
New Zealand Film Commission board: up to nine positions (including one Chair and up to eight members from which a deputy chair could be appointed).
Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa board: up to eight positions (including one Chair and up to seven members from which a deputy chair could be appointed).
Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga board: eight positions (including one Chair, one Deputy Chair, and six members).
Māori Heritage Council: eight positions (including one Chair and seven members).
National War Memorial Advisory Council: five positions (including one Chair and four members).
Chief Advisor Mātauranga Mataiki : one position
I also make joint appointments to Te Māori Manaaki Toanga Trust board with the Minister for Māori Development (including one Chair and up to four members).
