53889 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter January to March 2024 in actioning the recommendation ‘The National immunisation Programme must include clear accountability expectations in contractual provider service agreements’ under ‘Priority Area 10: Quality and standards for providers delivering immunisations to tamariki in New Zealand’ within the ‘Initial Priorities for the National Immunisation Programme in Aotearoa 2022’?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that the Primary Health Organisation (PHO) Services Agreement for general practice includes the requirement for PHOs to contribute to achieving national immunisation targets and to report on immunisation performance. A portion of National Immunisation Programme funding is dependent on the achievement of agreed targets. I am further advised that the pre-call/recall initiative contracts with PHOs, require reporting; coordination activities, and system improvements. A component of this contract includes payment on confirmation of completion of a child's six-week immunisation.
