53806 (2025). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: What is the average time, if any, taken for Oranga Tamariki to close a claim for abuse in care from the time it is assessed as eligible, for claimants without legal representation?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that they have not consistently captured the date eligibility is determined; therefore this information is not available. However I am also advised that the average time from the date of enquiry to the time a claim is closed is one year and four months.
