Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 on the priority action ‘ensure the health system is re-oriented to be culturally safe for disabled people and their whānau to voice their health and wellbeing needs (This includes for tāngata whaikaha Māori, as well as tagata sa’ilimalo, disabled people from ethnic communities, Rainbow communities and the Deaf community to ensure they can fully exercise self-determination over their health and wellbeing throughout their life.)’ within ‘Priority 1: Embed self-determination of disabled people and their whānau as the foundation of a person and whānau-centred health system’ as part of the Ministry of Health’s ‘Provisional Health of Disabled People Strategy: 2023’?
