53769 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister for Children: Further to WPQ 50462/24 What incentives or encouragements of a non physical nature (if any) were given to young people to consent to attending the Military Style Youth Academies?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised by Oranga Tamariki they did not give the young people on the Military-Style Academy Pilot any incentives or encouragements of a non-physical nature. Involvement discussions and consent was obtained from all young people and their family/whānau during the Family Group Conference pre-sentencing.
