53662 (2025). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Associate Minister of Health: How many claims for historic abuse, if any, have been assessed as eligible at the Ministry of Health since the 9 May announcement about changes to the redress system?

Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that as at 17 November 2025, 52 potentially eligible new claims have been received since 9 May 2025. Eligibility will be confirmed when the claims are reviewed and eligibility criteria assessed.
