Hon Mark Mitchell: As the Minister for Emergency Management and Recovery, I regularly request and receive advice from officials on matters relating to my Emergency Management and Recovery portfolio.
I received the following documents from officials in the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Chief Executive, Cyclone Recovery between 19-23 August 2024:
• Visit to MetService National Forecast Centre – 19 August 2024
• Minister’s attendance at NEMA Day – 19 August 2024
• Meeting with the Telecommunications Forum – 19 August 2024
• Ministerial Approval of Category 2 Risk Mitigation Projects under the 2023 North Island Weather Events Crown Funding Agreements for Hawke’s Bay and Tairāwhiti – 19 August 2024
• North Island Weather Events Crown Funding Agreement for Tauranga City – 22 August 2024
• Ministerial Bilateral with Canada – 23 August 2024
• Fortnightly Status Report to the Minister for Emergency Management and Recovery – 23 August 2024
• Draft Cabinet Paper: Strengthening New Zealand’s Disaster Resilience and Emergency Management – 23 August 2024.
I also received jointly with the Prime Minister the following document:
North Island Weather Events: Progress Update on Categorisation, Buyouts, and Sediment Removal – 23 August 2024.
I received one document on 21 August 2024, however, it is not in the public interest to release the title.
