Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Lead Coordination Minister for the Government's Response to the Royal Commission’s Report into Historical Abuse in State Care and in the Care of Faith-based Institutions: What percentage, if any, historic abuse in care claims lodged since 9 May 2025 have been delayed while waiting for forms associated with the proposal to introduce a new process for survivors who have been sentenced to five years or more in prison for serious sexual and/or violent offences, listed by the historic claims process they applied to?

Hon Erica Stanford: Ministry of Health - 0% Ministry of Education - 2.6% Ministry of Social Development - 0% Oranga Tamariki -0% In the publicly reported case regarding a terminally ill survivor and the Ministry of Health I am advised that this did not delay their claim as the claim was being progressed alongside the criminal check process.
