Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: Does the $30 million allocation for community mental-health and addiction services announced on 9 November 2025 represent new appropriations in Budget 2025 or a reallocation of existing baselines from earlier programmes such as Tackling Methamphetamine (2009) or Te Ara Oranga (2021)?

Hon Matt Doocey: The $30m allocation for addiction services announced as part of the Action Plan to Combat Methamphetamine Harm is funded through the 2025/26 uplift to the mental health and addiction ringfence.
