53135 (2025). Lemauga Lydia Sosene to the Minister of Internal Affairs: Further to her answer to written question 51589 (2025): has the Department of Internal Affairs, or any other agency estimated how much will be raised per year on average from the 4 percent of the Offshore Gambling Duty?

Hon Brooke van Velden: If the Offshore Gambling Duty is increased from 12 percent to 16 percent with an amount equivalent to 4 percent of Gross Gambling Revenue (GGR) being ring-fenced for community returns, this could result in raising $10 million to $20 million for community returns in the first 12 months from 1 January 2027. This would be dependent on the total GGR generated by the licensed online casino gambling market.
