53111 (2025). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Justice: Was there a subsidy for the audit fees of the Public Trust for people under property orders with assets of less than $20,000; if so when was it removed and why?
Hon Paul Goldsmith: There was a subsidy for the cost of Private Manager Examination fees for people with assets less than $20,000. The subsidy was removed from 1 July 2024 to revert to the original intent that the cost should be paid from the represented person’s own assets and not the taxpayer. At the same time, income and asset thresholds increased, allowing more people to be appointed as Property Administrators without needing to go through a Private Manager Examination.
