53104 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What work, if any, has been done since December 2023 to assess the feasibility, cost, or benefits of non-targeted hepatitis C testing?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that results from a national study testing the feasibility and acceptability of offering Hepatitis C testing through community laboratories are due by the end of Q2 2026/27. Results will help to inform future Hepatitis C programme planning, including the development of any approach to national Hepatitis C screening. A cost analysis will occur as part of this later planning process.
