53103 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Conservation: How many communications and engagement contractors or consultants, if any, were working for the department as at 11 November 2025, and how much, if any, has been budgeted for communications and engagement contractors or consultants for the 2025 calendar year?

Hon Tama Potaka: The Department of Conservation advises that as at 11 November 2025, they did not have any communications and engagement contractors. Previously, in the 2025 calendar year, there were two contractors who performed communications and engagement work. One contractor provided media training via two workshops – one in Auckland and one in Rotorua. Another contractor provided services related to newsletter creation. In total, the Department budgeted $22,060 + GST for communications and engagement contractor work in the calendar year 2025.
