Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Transport: What is the basis for the estimate that the Hamilton Southern Links project will create “over 7,000 new jobs”, including the modelling assumptions, methodology, and definition of “jobs” (for example, construction jobs, permanent jobs, or total job-years)?

Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised that this is based on the Waikato Regional Transport (WRT) Model, which a forecast of the number of jobs from planned industrial development across the Waikato, which is approximately 7,100 new jobs.
