Hon Shane Jones: I have had regular conversations with officials as they worked on the business case and the option of broadening the scope has been discussed throughout that process. Broadening the scope of the Gas Security Fund was first raised in an email update to my office on 30 July 2025. I received the first formal advice from MBIE on 15 August 2025.
