52531 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Prime Minister: Does the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet have the role of lead policy advisor; if so what is the mean salary of that role?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: No. The Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC) has one staff member with the role title “Chief Policy Advisor”. DPMC also has Policy Advisor Group (PAG) Advisors who are comparable to Lead Policy Advisors. We have included these staff in this response. The mean salary of staff members within DPMC and NEMA, a Departmental Agency hosted by DPMC, employed as a Lead Policy Advisor (or equivalent) is $237,051.
