52522 (2025). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Police: On what date, if any, will the Government achieve its target of 500 new frontline police?

Hon Mark Mitchell: The date at which point constabulary numbers are 500 higher than they were on 27 November 2023. The Government supports the Commissioner's clear focus on and reinstatement of standards. This has meant it may take a little bit longer to deliver 500 officers, but they will be delivered and Police are well on their way to getting there. We are not hung up on a date at the expense of standards and remain committed to delivering our 500 police officers.
