52521 (2025). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Police

Written Question
Published date: 20 Nov 2025
52521 (2025). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Police: How many new frontline police officers have been deployed since 27 November 2023 to date, and to which police districts have they been deployed to?
Hon Mark Mitchell: I refer the Member to the attached table, which shows the district allocations for recruits and rejoins who became Constables between 27 November 2023 and 3 November 2025. These figures reflect where each Constable was first deployed upon graduating from the Royal New Zealand Police College or being rehired. Please note that these allocations represent initial deployment only. Constables may have subsequently transferred to other districts or moved into, or out of, a Service Centre. Service Centres refer to nationally centralised workgroups that report to Police National Headquarters rather than through a district structure. These include groups such as Commercial Vehicle Safety Teams, the Police Prosecutions Group, national investigations teams (such as the National Organised Crime Group), and Training Instructors based at the Royal New Zealand Police College. This is also my response for Written Parliamentary Question 52520 (2025).
