52519 (2025). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Police: How many frontline police officers have been employed at New Zealand Police compared to how many frontline police officers who have left New Zealand Police since 27 November 2023 to date?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that, as at 3 November 2025, since 27 November 2023, 1,363 Constables have commenced employment at New Zealand Police. This is comprised of 1,240 recruits graduating from the Royal New Zealand Police College and 123 former Constables rejoining Police. In the same time period, 1,072 Constables have left New Zealand Police.
