Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Education: Does she stand by her statement “At the earliest opportunity, parents deserve to know how their kids are progressing at school and have confidence they are moving in the right direction. That’s why the Government is introducing consistent assessment tools so no matter where you live in New Zealand, parents and teachers will know more about how our young people are learning.”; if so, then why is there a lack of curriculum consistency for charter schools?

Hon Erica Stanford: Yes I stand by my statement which refers to assessment, not curriculum. Specific questions relating to policy for charter schools are the responsibility of the Associate Minister of Education.
