52395 (2025). Hon Jo Luxton to the Minister for Biosecurity: Which ecosystems and plant species in New Zealand, if any, are particularly reliant on pollination by honeybees and other insects that are preyed upon by the yellow-legged hornet?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: A number of exotic and native insects provide pollination to commercial and native plants. Honeybees are not a native insect, and New Zealand ecosystems are not solely reliant on them for pollination.
