52377 (2025). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Justice: Why has the subsidy for the cost of Public Trust’s examination fee for protected people with assets less than $20,000 been removed?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I am advised the subsidy for the Private Manager Examination fee was removed to align with the original intent that the cost should be paid from the represented person’s own assets and not the taxpayer. At the same time, the income and asset thresholds have gone up, which means that more people will now be appointed as Property Administrators without needing to go through a Private Manager Examination.
