52308 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety: How many reports of excessive road cone use received by WorkSafe through the government’s Road Cone Hotline, if any, were investigated in October 2025 and how many road cones, if any, were removed from worksites as a result?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised that Road Controlling Authorities (RCAs) are responsible for the investigation of notifications referred to them from the road cone hotline. WorkSafe New Zealand does not require RCAs to report on the number of road cones removed from sites found to have excessive temporary traffic management.
