52217 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Internal Affairs: What advice, if any, has the Minister received on the impact of public service cuts, if any, within their department, if any?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I have not received any specific advice on the impact of public service cuts within the Department of Internal Affairs. However, I received the following briefings which included information on impacts of proposed jobs losses resulting from the Government’s baseline reduction initiatives: • Budget 2024 Baseline Reduction Exercise for Vote Internal Affairs, 17 January 2024; and • Budget Day Briefing – Internal Affairs portfolio, 20 May 2024. The Department of Internal Affairs has proactively released the final decision documents of organisational changes associated with the baseline reduction exercise on its website at: www.dia.govt.nz/Proactive-Releases.
