52207 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Education: What teams, business units, and functions in the Minister’s departments, if any, have lost 30% or more FTEs since November 2023, and how many FTEs have they been reduced by?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised by the Ministry of Education that no business group has had a 30 percent or more reduction in full time equivalents (FTE) between 30 November 2023 and 31 July 2024. I am advised by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority that two business units have lost 30 percent or more FTEs since November 2023. The Operations and Logistics business unit has reduced by 20.5 FTEs and the Risk and Assurance business unit has reduced by one FTE. Of the 20.5 FTEs reduction from the Operations and Logistics business unit, 3 FTE have transferred to People and Capability. In addition to this, a significant proportion of the Operations and Logistics team have moved into other areas of the business. I am advised by the Education Review Office (ERO) that some business groups functions have been moved into other parts of ERO’s business, though these transfers retained more than 70 percent of attached FTE.
