52116 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Tertiary Education and Skills: What teams, business units, and functions in the Minister’s departments, if any, have lost 30% or more FTEs since November 2023, and how many FTEs have they been reduced by?

Hon Penny Simmonds: I refer the Member to the Minister of Education’s response to written parliamentary question 52207 (2024). I am advised by the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) that TEC in total has lost 27.4 FTEs which represents 8% of the workforce. When looking at the data at a team, business unit, and function level there has been a 30% or more FTE loss in the following team: Business Support function reduced by 64% from 14.0 to 5.0 FTEs. Note there are 5.0 FTE who were devolved and report into other parts of the business. I am advised by Education New Zealand that no teams, business units and functions have lost 30 percent or more full-time equivalents since November 2023.
