52094 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Conservation: What teams, business units, and functions in the Minister’s departments, if any, have increased FTEs since November 2023, and how many FTEs have they been increased by?

Hon Tama Potaka: The Department of Conservation advises me that the nature of the organisational changes that have occurred since November 2023 mean DOC cannot provide the information requested in the time allowed in a way that is useful, as changes to reporting lines and Group structure can misleadingly appear as disestablishment or reductions when the numbers of roles are not actually reduced, and the functions and work continue. For this reason, please refer to the attached document, which outlines changes in the numbers of permanent FTEs employed on the given dates at the Business Group level, rather than at Team or Business Unit level. The attachment also includes a summary of the main changes that occurred as a result of the Department’s most recent organisational change in order to aid understanding of which functions have moved between Business Groups or have been impacted by the recent organisational changes.
