52048 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Tertiary Education and Skills: What teams, business units, and functions in the Minister’s departments, if any, have increased FTEs since November 2023, and how many FTEs have they been increased by?

Hon Penny Simmonds: I refer the Member to the Minister of Education’s response to written parliamentary question 52125 (2024). For my Tertiary and Skills portfolio: I am advised by the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) that TEC's overall FTEs has decreased by 27.4 FTEs since November 2023. However there have been increases in FTEs in some teams and decreases in FTEs in other teams. For example, where there have been changes to reporting lines or where FTEs have been employed/seconded temporarily to support specific projects i.e. Ministerial Work Programme or Data System Refresh. I am advised by Education New Zealand that no business units or teams funded by Vote Tertiary Education have increased FTEs since November 2023.
