Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Customs: How many staff employed at the ministries, agencies and departments for which the Minister is responsible have signed non-disclosure agreements since 27 November 2023, listed by agency, role title and the date the agreement was signed, if any?

Hon Casey Costello: I have been advised that the New Zealand Customs Service (Customs) does not keep centralised records of non-disclosure agreements signed by individual staff members, and searching across the agency for such records is not a good use of officials’ time. Customs officials, from time to time, may sign a non-disclosure agreement on behalf of Customs for commercial or procurement purposes. This response is inclusive of the staff of the Border Executive Board Secretariat as they are considered to be employees of Customs.
