51974 (2024). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: Does he agree with New Zealand Resident Doctors’ Association national secretary Dr Deborah Powell that out of six psychiatry registrar positions, only two are currently filled at Taranaki Base Hospital; if so, what, if anything, will he do to address this?

Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that there are five, not six, budgeted psychiatry registrar positions at Taranaki Base Hospital. I am further advised that three of those positions have been filled, and that recruitment for the remaining two is actively continuing.
