51804 (2025). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister for Māori Development: What contributions, if any, has the Minister or any office they are responsible for made to inform the Governments position on the upcoming United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) in its 23rd and 24th periodic UN reviews by date and title?
Hon Tama Potaka: The Minister of Justice is leading the delegation to New Zealand’s examination of its 23rd and 24th reports under the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (CERD) in Geneva on 25-26 November. I am advised that the Committee has produced a list of themes outlining key areas of interest. The Ministry of Justice has been working with relevant agencies to prepare a delegation pack covering those themes. I am also advised Te Puni Kōkiri provided information to the Ministry of Justice on 25 July 2025 on Te Puni Kōkiri's contribution to the elimination of racial discrimination on the themes produced by the Committee.
