51744 (2025). Shanan Halbert to the Minister of Housing: What funding changes, if any, has there been to funding allocated to organisations or provision provided by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development on the North Shore during the past 18 months?

Hon Chris Bishop: Earlier this year a contract with Albany Oak Motel was not renewed. A further contract with Leroy Suites Albany ended in November 2024. The Government does not consider using motels for transitional or other housing an appropriate solution for housing need and worked with occupants to rehouse them in appropriate accommodation. In addition to existing services such as Transitional Housing provided on the North Shore, an additional 29 social housing places have been contracted during the last 18 months to be delivered in Birkdale and Northcross.
