51626 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: What is the total floor area and annual cost of all office space currently leased or owned by each agency for which the Minister is responsible, and what proportion of that space is currently occupied by staff?

Hon Louise Upston: I am advised that as at 31 October 2025 the Ministry of Social Development’s (the Ministry’s) property portfolio for use by the Ministry covers a total floor area of 149,675 square meters at a cost per annum of $54,632,618. The proportion of space that is currently occupied by staff is 99.4%. The Ministry has two sites which are not occupied, or are partially occupied, by staff. One site is currently under construction (580 square meters, 0.4%) and one site is being leased as temporary accommodation and the full floor leased exceeds our requirements (370 square meters, 0.2%).
