51613 (2025). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister of Education: Further to 45693 (2025), were any criteria used to decide what subjects would be assessed under the proposed NCEA changes announced on 4 August 2025?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised by the Ministry of Education that the consultation on proposed changes to NCEA did not propose a list of subjects to be assessed. The subjects referred to in public communications relate to the refreshed curriculum for Years 11–13, which was announced separately on 11 September 2025. The qualification changes are currently subject to consultation and have not yet been confirmed.
