Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised by the Department of Internal Affairs that the total annual cost of all office space currently leased or owned is $15,947,685.88 and the total floor area for office spaces is 29,991 m² as of 31/10/2025. The current occupancy per square metre by the Department’s staff is 12.67 m² per person. Film Classification Office I am advised by the Classification Office that the total annual cost of its office space currently leased is $233,104.56 and the total floor space is 600 sq. metre. Current occupancy rate: 100 percent. Due to the nature of work at the Classification Office all staff are expected to work at the Office most of the time. Fire and Emergency I am advised by Fire and Emergency New Zealand that they lease seven offices across New Zealand, National Headquarters in Wellington and six regional offices in Kerikeri, Tauranga, Rangiora, Christchurch, Queenstown, Dunedin and Invercargill. The combined total floor area of all seven offices is 7,519.11 square metres. The cost of leasing the seven offices for the 2024/25 financial year was $1,080,324.59 (+GST). All seven offices are 100% occupied. Lotto NZ The total floor area for the Lotto NZ office is 2,303.4m2. The leased office space is 100% occupied by staff.
