51538 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Conservation: How many, if any agencies for which the Minister is responsible have reduced staff numbers since 2023 while maintaining or increasing their total office space holdings?

Hon Tama Potaka: I am advised by the Department of Conservation that its staff numbers have not reduced between 30 September 2023 and 30 September 2025. The Department further advises me that whilst it has reduced staff numbers in some areas to meet savings targets, overall staff numbers have remained constant as the Department delivers new work to support Government priorities, such as project work funded by the International Visitor Levy.
