Hon Rachel Brooking to the Minister for Food Safety: Has he received any representations from stakeholders, including AsureQuality employees, about the impact of potential changes to export meat inspection services, and if so, what is the breakdown of this by stakeholder, date, and representation made?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: I refer the member to the following items provided to me about the Regulatory Inspection and Supervision (RIS) programme: • a letter from the Public Service Association on 30 June 2025, which outlined their position on the RIS Programme; and • a briefing received from New Zealand Food Safety at the Ministry for Primary Industries on 14 August 2025, titled B25-0442 Regulatory Inspection and Supervision Programme.
