Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised by Fire and Emergency New Zealand that the shortfall in levy revenue is primarily due to: • Lower-than-expected volumes of domestic insurance policies; • Reduced levels of commercial insurance cover; and • Fewer contract works insurance policies. These factors have collectively contributed to the decline in expected levy income.
