51026 (2025). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: How many providers, if any, have contracts signed to deliver the 550 new social housing places in Auckland in 2025/26 announced in Budget 2025 as at 23 October 2025 and for each of those providers how does the number of places to be delivered breakdown by ‘built to own’ and ‘built to lease’?

Hon Chris Bishop: In accordance with Speaker's Ruling 210/6, I am advised that significant manual collation is required for officials to provide the number of contracts for each provider and a breakdown of Build to Own/Build to Lease for each. I do not consider the time and expense of answering the member’s question to be in the public interest. However, I can advise that as at 14 October, 399 places approved under Budget 2025 have received contractual confirmation from the Ministry. Of these, 225 were build to lease, 174 were build to own.
