51009 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister for the Public Service: What precedents, if any, exist for the Public Service Commission, rather than the employing agencies, to communicate publicly about industrial action or collective bargaining outcomes, and when were such precedents last invoked?

Hon Judith Collins: Traditionally the lead negotiating agency issues communications on industrial action and bargaining outcomes, meaning no new precedent has been set in that regard. In this instance, the Public Service Commissioner has withdrawn the delegation to the Secretary for Education to lead the bargaining as outlined in question 51007.
