50995 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Associate Minister of Transport: What board fee increases, if any, has the Minister approved in 2025 to date, by organisation?

Hon James Meager: I have approved an increase in board fees to Maritime New Zealand, which takes effect from 1 January 2026. The new fee is $64,000 per annum for the Chair, $40,000 for the Deputy Chair per annum and $32,000 per annum for members. This new fee is within the range for the type of body that Maritime New Zealand is classified as. Outside of a 10 percent uplift approved by the previous Government in August 2023, this is the first fee uplift for the Maritime New Zealand Board since at least the 2008/09 financial year.
