50810 (2025). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Education: What indicators, if any, are collected by the Government to confirm that the information gathered by Internal Environment Monitoring devices is being acted upon?
Hon Erica Stanford: There are currently no formal indicators to confirm whether schools are acting on Internal Environment Monitoring (IEM) data, as classroom actions, like opening windows, can vary based on context and are not systematically recorded. To support schools in using the data, the Ministry of Education is progressively rolling out weekly IEM email updates. These updates provide timely information about indoor conditions, enabling schools to interpret the data in the context of their own actions, such as assessing the impact of recent ventilation changes or other strategies.
