50798 (2025). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Health: How, if at all, is the Government collecting data on New Zealanders suffering from long-term post-viral symptoms?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that Health New Zealand does not currently collect data in the way that it has been requested by the Member. As the Member should be aware, COVID-19 is now endemic in New Zealand, and long-term post-viral conditions are managed in the same way as those arising from any other respiratory illnesses.
