Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised that families and whānau in Rotorua who are at high-risk of family violence are being supported to access medical treatment for injuries, apply for protection orders, improve home security, and receive ACC-funded counselling services. The accelerated outreach in Rotorua focuses on responding quickly to family violence referrals; sometimes within four hours of receiving a report. The intensive support model emphasises working alongside families and whānau to understand what they want and need, and to accurately identify risks.
