50688 (2025). Tamatha Paul to the Minister of Housing: How many Kainga Ora units, if any, are vacant within the Wellington Central electorate, and how many of those units have been vacant for longer than one month, three months, or one year?

Hon Chris Bishop: Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities advises me that it does not report by electorate. However, it did advise me that as at 30 September 2025 there were 77 vacant social housing properties in the Wellington City Territorial Local Authority. Four were ready-to-let, 10 were undergoing repairs, and the remaining 63 were vacant while a decision is made as to their future use. I refer the member to the attached table provided by Kāinga Ora that categorises their vacant properties and vacancy periods. This is also my response for WPQ 50686, 50689, and 50691 (2025).
