50687 (2025). Tamatha Paul to the Minister of Housing: How many Kainga Ora units, if any, are vacant at each Kainga Ora housing complex within the Wellington Central electorate?

Hon Chris Bishop: Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities advises me that it does not record whether or not a unit is part of a complex or not in its system. Kāinga Ora would have to divert personnel from their core duties to provide the information sought by the Member. In accordance with Speaker’s Ruling 210/6, I consider that the time and expense of answering the Member’s questions, relating to the vacancy rate of complexes managed by Kāinga Ora is not in the public interest. This is also my response for WPQ 50690 (2025).
