Hon Nicola Willis: The median salary for the Treasury was $133,890 and the mean salary for the Treasury was $140,503 as of 14 August 2024. The above figures refer to annual full-time equivalent base salary for current and seconded out employees. This includes staff with both permanent and fixed-term contracts. At 31 July 2024 the median salary of staff at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand – Te Pūtea Matua (RBNZ) was $137,700. The mean salary was $147,613. Please note that these calculations are based on active permanent and fixed-term employees (excluding those on leave of absence). These calculations also exclude the salary of the Governor which is set independently of RBNZ by the Remuneration Authority.
