50484 (2024). Rachel Boyack to the Minister for Arts, Culture and Heritage: Given the closure of the Regional Culture and Heritage Fund, what funds, if any, are available for the Nelson Provincial Museum to apply to for their Archive, Research and Collection Centre project?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: The Government recently established the Regional Infrastructure Fund, which has been open to applications from cultural and heritage institutions of regional significance since 1 July 2024. I am further advised that Lottery Environment and Heritage, administered through the Department of Internal Affairs, also provides grants for projects that will protect, conserve and promote New Zealand’s cultural and physical heritage. These may be options for the Nelson Provincial Museum to apply to. As the Minister for Arts, Culture and Heritage, I am not responsible for either of these funds.
