50462 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister for Children: What incentives or encouragements (if any) were given to young people to consent to attending the Military Style Youth Academies?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that there are no physical incentives given to young people to consent to attending the Military-Style Academy Pilot. Involvement discussions and consent was obtained from all young people and their family/whānau during the Family Group Conference pre-sentencing.
